  • Are your silhouettes hand-cut?

    Yes, all silhouettes at MAISON SUZETTE are free-form and hand-cut by me, authentically replicating the 18th century French silhouette portrait tradition. I was trained by French artisans and Disney Silhouette Studio veterans with decades of experience.

  • What portraits will you cut?

    I haven’t refused a subject yet at SALON DES SILHOUETTE! Humans, pets, celebrities, anime characters – all OK, as long as you handle the reference material for the subject!

  • I would like to order a remote online silhouette! How should I send over reference photos

    At the moment, I am only processing orders through Etsy. Please e-mail your photo reference at your earliest convenience to SILHOUETTES.BY.SUZETTE@GMAIL.COM and include your name and order number.

  • What are the best guidelines for a silhouette reference photo for a remote online order?

    ✁ Stand approximately 4 feet from your subject
    ✁ Have subject stand in front of a plain background (a white backdrop is ideal!)
    ✁ Please photograph at EYE-level
    ✁ Have subject face RIGHT
    ✁ Have lips closed in natural position
    ✁ INCLUDE full back of head and neck down to shoulders
    ✁ Phone photos are OK!
    ✁ Multiple photos are OK!

  • I would like to order a more complicated silhouette illustration!

    Please e-mail me at SILHOUETTES.BY.SUZETTE@GMAIL.COM or complete a website form with dimensions and a detailed write-up! I have experience with more elaborate complicated silhouette illustrations. Prices begin at $300 for a couture one-of-a-kind project like this.

  • I would like to book you for a private event (wedding, corporate event, etc)!

    I would love to be a part of your event! Let’s make this happen. When inquiring either by website form or to SILHOUETTES.BY.SUZETTE@GMAIL.COM directly, please include the venue address, date, and expected guest attendance.

  • How far out can I book your services in advance?

    I am currently booking for the 2023 calendar year. If you have an event in 2024, do please still reach out! I will evaluate on a case-by-case basis.

  • What is the booking rate?

    My private event rate is $250/hour with a minimum booking of 2 hours.

  • What does this booking rate include?

    The hourly booking rate accurately reflects a full duration of cutting silhouettes. You do not pay extra for prep or breakdown; I will set up 15-30 minutes prior to the booking time and wrap after the scheduled time (~15 minutes). In 1 hour, I can comfortably accommodate hand-cutting 20 guest silhouettes. Each silhouette will come affixed with archival paste to a 5” x 7” premium cardstock mat of your guest’s choice (I have multiple design options) and with a clear archival sleeve for protection. As I cut using folded speciality silhouette paper, two silhouette portraits are produced in one sitting. For weddings, the Bride & Groom (or Bride & Bride, or Groom & Groom) usually like to supply an album for me to paste the duplicate cuts into. Guests can then sign and leave comments!

  • Are there add-on packages to your private bookings?

    Yes, if you are interested in adding on frames for guests, please reach out, and I can send over a one-sheet quote of frame options.

  • Do you cut full-body silhouettes at events?

    I am happy to do free-form, hand-cut live full-body silhouettes of the hosts during my time booked! Please keep in mind, this will take longer than a traditional bust silhouette.

  • Can you specially design and cut full-body silhouettes in advance?

    Yes! I offer a deluxe full-body silhouette option that begins at $200 for 2 figures in advance. This package comes with 2 rounds of revisions, a final 8” x 10” mounted silhouette portrait, and digitized files for your personal use.

  • Can you design a personalized 5” x 7” mat for the silhouettes for my event?

    While I have an array of existing design options for the silhouette mounting mats, there is nothing quite like a bespoke, personalized mat to fit your event’s theme and decor! Please reach out if you are interested in this option.

  • I am interested in an exclusive event mat design that you offered at a pop-up. May I get my silhouette on that?

    I apologize, but certain 5” x 7” mat designs are event- or venue-only exclusives! Subscribe to my newsletter or follow my social media to learn more about future limited releases!

  • I would like to purchase a frame that you used in your display or website photos that I do not see listed on your website or Etsy shop.

    Unfortunately, I most likely do not have that specific frame sourced for you to buy! Please feel free to reach out regardless!

  • Do you do events outside of DFW?

    I do not charge any travel fees for events within 60 miles of the center of Dallas. This largely covers the DFW metroplex! I am available to travel for events, but hosts will need to cover transportation costs, lodging, and a per diem that covers additional expenses (ground transportation, meals, miscellaneous costs).

  • How much is the travel fee for coverage outside of DFW?

    If you are located outside of DFW, please reach out with the location and date of your event, and I can give an estimate of the travel costs. This varies based on date and distance. I will say a reasonable earmark is to anticipate $600.

  • How do we secure the booking?

    Once we’ve confirmed the details, I will send over a contract and an invoice by e-mail for a non-refundable 50% deposit.

  • How does payment work for bookings?

    To reserve the date of booking, I request a 50% non-refundable deposit due within 7 business days of invoice receipt. I will send an online invoice. The remaining 50% is due 24 hours in advance of the scheduled event unless negotiated otherwise between us in our contract.

  • What does the venue need to provide for the event?

    All I need from the venue is a table in a well-lit area and two chairs! I provide the rest. I also carry a battery-powered light in my kit for back-up.

  • How many silhouettes can you cut in 1 hour?

    In 1 hour, I can comfortably accommodate a total of 20 guest silhouettes. As I only need 1-3 minutes to cut a silhouette, the actual silhouette count cut is often greater, but I’ve found from doing private events that 20 guests per hour is the best rule of thumb.

  • What if we booked you for a set time and would like to extend the booking AT the event?

    No problem, just let me know! In most cases, this is doable!

  • Can I record you cutting a silhouette?

    Yes, you may! However, please be respectful of recording subjects if you do not have their consent. Please tag me on social media!

  • I am hosting a costumed/period/themed event with a specific dress attire/code.

    Great minds think alike! When I am not cutting paper, I work in costuming. I have many pieces of antique, vintage, and period garments and costumes in my wardrobe arsenal. Tell me more about your dress code, and I am more than happy to come dressed appropriately!

  • I am a boutique owner, brand, organization, or something similar who would like to collaborate for a design, special event, or campaign!

  • I saw your red carpet fashion illustrations! Do you do these for weddings?

    At the moment, I do not do live fashion illustrations for weddings. However, you may reach out via website inquiry or e-mail if you have a fashion-related event you would like to hire me for. My rates for this service begin at $500/hour.
